Mr. Paul McDonald, is, simply stated, a winner.
Beginning as the quarterback that led USC to a national championship, a 22-1-1 season, two Rose Bowl victories, 17 NCAA, Pac-10, and USC records, and All-American honors in 1979, Mr McDonald was also a first team Academic All-American, receiving the NCAA Top Five Scholar-Athlete award and honored as a National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame inductee.
Moving into the NFL, Paul McDonald led the Cleveland Browns to the play-offs in 1982. He was also nominated as 1984 Miller Lite Man-of-the-Year for his community service in forming Paul’s Pals, an organization aiding pediatric hematology and oncology patients at Cleveland Children’s Hospital.
Beyond a wildly successful professional football career with both the Cleveland Browns and the Dallas Cowboys, Mr. McDonald continued his winning streak in the even harder hitting world of business. As an investment professional, Mr. McDonald served as both a Vice President for Wells Fargo Bank and a Financial Consultant for Merrill Lynch. He was subsequently drafted to become a partner in Spectrum Alliance Group, an Orange County firm specializing in management, marketing, and sales consulting. Seeking new challenges, Paul took on the development and oversight of national commercial real estate transactions for First American Title. Following seven rewarding years with First American, Mr. McDonald entered his current role as Senior Vice President for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.
Never entirely leaving the gridiron behind, Mr. McDonald continued to fire his passion for football as both an expert television analyst for USC and as co-host of ABC’s Pac-10 Preview. Paul McDonald recently completed his thirteenth year as the premiere radio analyst for USC football, receiving the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Radio Color Commentary Award for 3 of the last 6 years. Additionally, in 2004, Paul was further honored with the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award.
Equalling his love of sports with a love of community, Mr. McDonald has dedicated himself to various non-profit efforts. Paul serves as a Board member for Eric’s Vision, Westcoast Sports Associates, the Newport Harbor High School Mentoring Program, and is a founding member of StreetSmart Kids, an organization designed to educate children and parents about child safety.
Mr. McDonald will prove to be a priceless asset to Thinkubator, its Gridiron Grinds Coffee cafes, and to each portfolio holding on matters of marketing, financing, and winning sales strategies.
